How do you add an Account to the Chart of Accounts?

This article will demonstrate how to add an account to the Chart of Accounts.

  1. Click on the Dashboard button at the top of the screen and select Accounting.
2.  Go to the Chart of Accounts and click on the New button in the upper right corner and select Account.
3.  Select the proper Account Heading and then fill-in the table.  A Subheading can be added from a list or you can add your own.  You can also choose not to include a subheading by leaving it blank.


4.  To add your new Subheading click on the green Add bar and the Add Subheading window will open.  If you do not want to change the Subheading, click on Save & Close.  When you return to the Add Account screen the subheading has been added, click on Save & Close to add the account.


5.  In the Chart of Accounts the Subheading and Account have been added.
