This article will demonstrate how to enter opening balances for chemicals, fertilizers, and seeds.
This feature is only available when creating a new input. You will not be able to add or edit an opening balance for inputs that have been previously utilized.
How do I enter an Opening Balance on Inputs?
1. Navigate to Resources and click on Inputs.
2. Within the Inputs screen, you will either be favoriting a new input or creating a custom input. To know what option suits your operation best, you will need to search our existing input data base for your desired input. If the input you wish to set up as a favorite is not available, proceed to the linked articles below before coming back to step# 3.

3. Once you have favorited the desired input you will be able to enter in the opening balance. For demonstration purposes, you will see an opening balance entered in for a Seed Input. Click the three dots on the right hand side on the input and click on Manage Inventory.
4. Once you have entered the Manage Inventory page, click the three dots to the right of the Opening Balance line and click on Edit Opening Balance.
5. Proceed to fill in required details. You will need to select a Crop Year, enter the Quantity, select a unit of measure, and enter in a Unit Cost. Once this information has been filled in, click Save located at the bottom right hand side.
6. You will be asked if you would like to Update the Input Cost for the input for the selected Crop Year.
7. After completing the steps above, you will now see you opening balance.
How do I edit an Opening Balance on Inputs?
1. To edit the opening balance on your input, navigate to Resources and then click on Inputs.
2. Locate the desired Input and click on the three dots to the right, and then click on Manage Inventory.
3. Locate the line item Opening Balance and click the three dots on the right hand side, click on Edit Opening Balance.
4. Make the desired changes and then click Save.
