What should I do if an Operator does not have an email address?

Overview:

In order to have a login with Traction Enterprise, you need to have an active email address or phone number in order to verify your account.

Requirements:

  • You will need to enter an email address or phone number for users within Setup>People.

Answer:

If a user does not have an email address, you can use their phone number to setup their account. They will then be sent text messages, rather than emails, when they need to verify their account or eventually reset their password.

Note: On the instance that a user may have neither, or their email address may be already taken in the account, there is a trick you can use to set up a unique user with a verifiable email address. Choose the email address you'd like the verification links to be sent to, then before the @ sign, add a + sign and then something to differentiate the username.

For example, your agronomist may be an active user in another Traction Enterprise account. This would mean their email address is not unique and would not be a valid username. If their email is agronomist@corteva.com, you could add agronomist+farmname@corteva.com. This will create a unique username, but the verification email will still be sent to the valid email address of agronomist@corteva.com.
