What happens if negative net weights are captured on your grain cart scales?

Overview:

This is a common scenario that Traction Enterprise customers encounter with their grain cart scales and we handle this very well. This is a scenario where a grain cart operator will zero out the grain cart scale as they pull up next to the truck right before they transfer their load. After they finish transferring, the operator is left with a negative number on their scale. This is displayed in the "tare" portion on the "Add Load" screen in the mobile app. To make sure we don't capture negative weights, Traction Enterprise automatically flips the negative number to a positive number so you can still use this process without interrupting your operator's workflow.

Requirements:

  • The Traction Enterprise mobile app downloaded on a mobile device.
  • Traction Enterprise mobile app login credentials established within the Setup>People page.
  • Harvest work orders assigned to you and your tractor.

Process:

  1. Operator zeros out the grain cart scale and then hits the bluetooth button or manually enters in the "Gross" weight = 0.00.
  2. Operator will then make the transfer from the grain cart to the truck and when they're finished, they have a negative number in the "Tare" weight = -56,000.00.
  3. Traction Enterprise automatically flips this negative number to a positive number in the "Net" weight = 56,000.00.
  4. Operator can enter a "Moisture" if they know it or leave it blank and then Traction Enterprise calculates a Final Quantity of bushels.
  5. After the data has been entered and is correct the Operator taps Save and moves onto the next grain cart transfer.
