What are common types of Field Group categories?

Overview

Field Groups are a great way to filter for specific views of your farm operation. When you create a Field Group category, you might want to ask yourself, "How will I want to view specific fields that I farm?".

This article will go over the most common used field groups.

Requirements

In order to create field groups, you will need to have boundaries established in Setup>Fields.

Answer

These are some examples of the most common used Field Groups:

  • Landowner
  • Farm
  • County
  • Irrigated
  • Non-irrigated
  • Company Division
  • Soil Type
  • Custom Farm Fields
  • High, Medium, Low Yield

Traction Enterprise already has crop specific filters on all relevant pages, therefore you do not need to create field groups for specific crop types.  Also, a manually created Crop Field Group would quickly become irrelevant due to crop rotation changes.

Note: A field can be assigned only once per Field Group category.
