How do we set up Spray Tasks using tank mixes?

Overview:

Traction Enterprise provides a simple and flexible approach to Spray Tasks involving conventional or organic spray mixes.

Costs, reductions to inventory, and a field record of the mix proportions and totals are automatically captured using the Mobile Work Order system. Additional benefits of using a tank mix include enhanced and more accurate machine data, and more flexibility in the field to adjust mix proportions or rates based on crop weather conditions.

Answer:

To set up Spray Tasks using tank mixes:

  1. Make sure you have the appropriate tank mix set up in Traction Enterprise.
  2. Navigate to Setup>Inputs and double-check that the individual chemical or fertilizer components of the tank mix are listed in your farm catalog.
  3. Add them to the catalog if needed.
  4. Navigate to the Mix page to add a tank mix comprised of the relevant spray materials.

  1. After the tank mix is configured, navigate to Operations>Plans>Crop Plans,
  2. Select New Task.
  3. Specify Input Application and choose the appropriate tank mix from the menu (you can also create your tank mixes from here, if needed).

The tank mix page shows the application rates and total rate, and can be adjusted for each plan and field if needed.  A tank mix Spray Task can also be added to an existing Field Plan on the Field Plans page.

Create a Work Order to assign the Task to an individual responsible for spraying.

On the Traction Enterprise mobile app, the field sprayer can adjust the total rate or the individual proportions of the tank mix using the Tank Mix Calculator.

When the Work Order is complete, the Operator enters the total volume used. Traction Enterprise automatically calculates the reduction in inventory (if set up) and allocates the cost of the mix components to that field.
