Overview:
Tracking irrigation in Traction Enterprise is as easy as creating Irrigation Tasks and assigning Work Orders. This article will go over best practices when recording irrigation Activity Records.
A separate Work Order is needed for each irrigation task so that each irrigation record shows on Reports.
Requirements:
- Operational field boundaries set up in Traction Enterprise.
- Operators added.
- Field plans assigned to operational boundaries with applicable tasks.
Process:
- To track Irrigation Tasks, first create a new Work Order for an Irrigation Task and assign it to an Operator.
- In terms of timing, we recommend you set the start/end time for the day that you want to turn the Irrigation on.
- To specify when the Irrigation should be turned off, we recommend you include a note within the Work Order that says Turn on irrigation. Turn off on [DATE].
- When the Operator is ready to begin irrigating, he should Start and then immediately Pause the Work Order.
- In Progress task at a time.
- For optimal transparency, the Operator should update the Work Order notes to indicate when the irrigation was turned on and off
- Note: Starting the Work Order also automatically generates a timestamp with this indicator.
- Meanwhile, the Work Orders will remain on the Operator's Mobile App, which serves as a reminder that the irrigation is currently "On," and will need to be turned "Off" on the day that you specify in the Notes section.
- When the irrigation needs to be turned off, the Operator will go to the appropriate Field Boundary, open the Work Order, and tap Complete.
- This will generate a timestamp for the Work Order with the completed time.
Essentially, you should treat Irrigation Tasks like any other Task or Work Order, with the exception being that a Paused Work Order indicates that the irrigation is still running.
