Overview:
When you have multiple landowners on the same field boundary there are two ways you can handle this in Traction Enterprise, depending on the level of accuracy you want to achieve.
- Distributing yield among landowners by crop share percentage
- Separating yield by creating separate boundaries each landowner's part of the field.
Requirements:
- Draw or import all boundaries into your Traction Enterprise account.
- Setup each landowner and lessee as an Entity.
Process:
Distributing yield among landowners by crop share percentage
Traction Enterprise can automatically allocate the harvest yield using the agreements for the field boundary. To do this, you will first:
- Head over to Setup>Land Agreements.
- Find your field that you need to track with the filters.
- Click "Add Agreement" and add the first landowner. Continue to do this until all landowners have been added on their own line.
- Specify the Ownership Area % for each landowner, or their portion of the field. Ownership % for each agreement on this field must sum up to 100%
- Put the share percentage that belongs to that landowner in the "Crop Share %" field.
- Keep in mind, that this is a percentage of the "Ownership Area". For example, if the Ownership % is set to 50% of the field, and the Crop Share % is 50%, that landowner will actually be getting 25% of the total field's yield.
- After you record harvest data on this field, you can see the percentage for each entity by going to Crops>Inventory>Ownership Balances, or add in the "Entity" row on Yield Analyzer reports.
Note: This option is straightforward and provides flexibility for reporting purposes.
Separate yield by each landowner's part of the field boundary
If you need more precise allocations, this option might work better for you. You can divide the field into multiple boundaries that correspond exactly to the landowner boundaries. You can then assign the crop plan to match the harvesting task for each boundary where you can enter the number of bushels for each.
- The trade off here is that you have to create separate Work Orders for each task on these boundaries throughout the year.
- The benefit is that you have precise reporting for each landowner boundary.
For reference, this process is similar to how you would track dryland and irrigated yields separately on the same field boundary.
