Overview:

Traction Enterprise is great for helping you track your leases with Landowners.

Requirements:

  • Add Landowners on the Setup>Entities page.

Process:

  1. Navigate to Setup>Land Agreements.
  2. Locate the desired field by scrolling or using the filters at the top.
  3. Click Add Agreement and enter the agreement information for the first landowner.
  4. Under Ownership %, specify what percent of the boundary that particular landowner owns.
  5. Click Add Agreement for each landowner.
  6. Make sure that your Ownership % equals 100%.

Example

Field -1 is a 50-acre boundary that Corn Belt Farms manages as one field, even though it has two landowners, Jason and Janet. We have a 10% Crop Share Agreement with Janet for 20 acres (40% of the field) and a Cash Rent Agreement with Jason for the remaining 30 acres (60% of the field). In this case, we would do the following:

  1. On the Land Agreements page under Field - 1, click Add Agreement.
  2. Select Janet in the Landowner box and enter Corn Belt Farms in the Lessee box.
  3. Leave the Cash Rent box empty and click Add Crop Share.
  4. Enter the percentage of the Crop Share as 40% (20 acres) of the Boundary Ownership to Janet.
  5. Click Add Agreement again for Field-1.
  6. Select Jason as the Landowner.
  7. Select Corn Belt Farms as the Lessee.
  8. Enter the Cash Rent value.
  9. Assign 60% (30 acres) of the Ownership Area to Jason.

When you harvest Field-1, 4% of the grain (40% ownership x 10% crop share) automatically goes into inventory belonging to Janet. The rest goes into inventory under Corn Belt Farms. Jason does not receive inventory because his portion of the field is under a straight Cash Rent agreement.
