How do I keep Non-GMO and conventional grain separated in storage?

Overview:

To ensure traceability and communication with field crews, many farms designate specific bins to store their Non-GMO grain. For example, a farm might have a bin dedicated to Non-GMO soybean grain, at least for a part of any given season.

Requirements:

  • Ensure that the appropriate crop product is set up for your farm operation (for example, Non-GMO Soybean Grain).
  • Ensure that a bin is set up in Traction Enterprise to accommodate this crop product in Setup>Inventory Locations.

Process:

To add a crop storage container:

  1. Navigate to Setup>Inventory Locations.
  2. On the Inventory Locations grid, select the Inventory Location you would like to edit.

  3. In the Edit Crop Storage window, click Add to add your new storage container.
  4. Select the appropriate crop product as the Current Crop.
  5. Click Save.
Note: This is the method to use for organic and other crops that you need to keep separate in storage. You might also find this method useful if you want to keep a certain variety separate in storage.
