Overview:
FSA boundaries, often referred to as CLUs, are the boundaries used by the USDA's FSA Office and insurance companies to track planted acres and Actual Production History (APH).
Requirements:
- Obtain the shapefiles from your local FSA Office.
- The files will need to be inside of a zipped folder.
Process:
- Navigate to Setup>Fields.
- Click Add and select Import FSA Boundary Shapefiles.
- Select the ZIP file that contains the geo-spatial information from the FSA.
Note: During the import process, do not leave or refresh the page because this will cancel the import. - Drag FarmNBR, TractNBR, and CLUNBR to the Naming Format box.
- Click Save.
- Select Add All Selected Boundaries or select one or more specific boundaries and then click Add All Selected Boundaries to complete the import.
FSA boundaries are available under the Operational Boundary.
- The FSA Shapefiles display as a layer underneath each field. Review these to make sure they are aligned to the correct operational boundary and delete any FSA boundaries that pertain to non-cropland.
- You can move FSA boundaries to the correct operational boundary if they are incorrectly aligned (this usually only happens when two operational boundaries are very close to one another.)
