How do I change the Crop in a Crop Storage bin or container?

Overview:

Often Inventory Locations and bins store multiple crops at various times of the year.  The way you change the crops associated with a bin in Traction Enterprise depends on whether you have already used that particular Crop Storage.

Requirements:

Process:

  1. Navigate to Setup>Inventory Locations.
  2. On the Inventory Locations grid, click in the Crop Storage column for a location.
  3. In the Edit Crop Storage dialog box, select a new crop from the Current Crop menu and then click the arrow on the right to select a crop product (for example, Grain).
  4. Change the Storage Name and Capacity if necessary.

To make a container inactive and create a new one:

If you previously used a container to store a harvested crop, you cannot change the current crop type or fully delete that crop storage container because there are associated historical activities. You can deactivate that container and create a new one with the same name to store the new crop.

  1. In the Edit Crop Storage dialog box, clear the Active selection.
  2. Click Add on the bottom left and create your new container.
  3. The Storage Name of the new container can be the same as the name of the old container that it is replacing.
