Overview:
Sometimes, you'll need to complete Fall Tillage or Product Application Tasks for the next year's crop, but you won't necessarily know what crop you're going to grow on that field yet.
Requirements:
In this case, you'll still want to track any costs associated with those fall Tasks, which means you'll have to have a Crop Plan in place in order to do so.
Process:
To do this, it's best to set up a Fall Work Plan to assign to all of your fields.
- Just go to Operations>Plans>Crop Plans
- Click New Crop Plan
- Name the Plan, so you can differentiate it from your other crop-based plans
- And leave the Crop Type menu empty
Assign this Plan to all your fields and and begin completing the Tasks.
As you start to plan what you'll be growing on each field, you can set the Crop Type to reflect that plan; then revise the settings if and when your crop plans change.
Whenever you know for sure exactly which crop you'll be planting, and you have that Crop Plan built, just go to Operations>Plans>Field Plans to merge your new plan into your Fall Work plan.
- Check the box next to the field you are merging
- Drag the new Crop Plan over to the field
- This will open an "Add or Merge" popup box
- Choose the Plan already on the field from the drop down menu
- Then click "Merge Plan"
This will merge all of your completed Fall Work tasks into this new Crop Plan.
