Overview:
Getting harvest data into Traction Enterprise is really important to experience the full value of the software. You can save time entering data by importing files from your grain cart, truck scale or elevator software systems.
Requirements:
- Draw or import all operational boundaries into your account.
- Add any necessary crops to your account.
- Add Crop Inventory Locations.
- Create Crop Plans with Harvest Tasks.
- Assign plans to your fields.
Process:
You'll first need to export load/delivery data in the form of a CSV (.csv) file from your scale or elevator software system. Examples for how certain popular types of files should be formatted are attached at the bottom of this article.
Note: If none of the below templates match your file exactly, you're also able to create and save a new, custom template. You are able to tie loads to a Contract by adding in a Contract column on your CSV file.
After you've exported your file from your scale or elevator software, navigate to Crops>Inventory>Imports and click Import in the top right to get started. You'll be prompted to:
- Choose the file from your computer.
- Specify the template to be used (or select new custom template).
- Select the Production Cycle.
- Specify the Crop Product.
- If you've selected new custom template, click Next. This will take you to the Match Columns page.
Note: if you selected to use an existing template and have changes to make to that template, click Edit Template to be taken to the Match Columns page as well.
On the Match Columns page, you'll be prompted to select which columns from your exported file match with each required field as needed to properly import (you'll find additional fields to use if needed).
Keep in mind:
- You can also manually enter or edit data on the Review page.
After you've selected which file column name matches with the respective required field, sample data populates in the column to the right, indicating how this information will look upon importing. A yellow exclamation point in the Configuration column indicates a tweak will need to be made.
Continue matching column names from your exported .csv. When you get to the section where you'll be matching transfer quantities, you'll be able to specify which unit to use when importing transfer quantities.
After you've finished matching columns, click "Save and Next" to save a new template. You'll be able to use this template again at a later date.
On the review page, you'll be able to view data, fix issues, and indicate which rows to import. When ready to import, click "Import Rows".
Imported rows appear in Crops>Inventory>Transfers and automatically update relevant inventory and ownership balances.
