Overview:
Traction Enterprise uses your Machine Data to track a variety of vital information to your farm. The Import Settings page is a place where you can select your Machine Data Import Settings for future data that comes into Traction Enterprise.
Requirements:
- Make sure you have the following setup: Boundaries, Crop and Field Plans, Tasks and Inputs.
- Set up where you will source importing Machine Data into Traction Enterprise.
Answer:
- Navigate to Setup>Import Settings.
- On the Machine Data Import Settings page, select the Record Default to use as the source of truth for Activity Records (default is Mobile (Work Orders)):
- Mobile (Work Orders): Use Machine Data records only for reconciliation.
- Machine Data: Use Work Orders for non-equipment tasks such as Irrigation and Scouting and for reconciliation on equipment tasks such as Tilling and Input Applications.
- Note: Both records will be stored, but only one is used by the system to ensure that the activity is only counted once. However, any tasks that come in from the Operator that are not recorded by Machine Data and any Machine Data that does not have an Operator-entered record is automatically included regardless of this setting. In addition, web records are an exception; they are not automatically excluded when the "Machine Data" option is selected.
- Recommended - select Use Inputs Recorded in the Monitor to use the inputs your operators recorded in the monitor rather than the planned input in Traction Enterprise.
- Optional - select Automatically Complete Tasks to mark tasks as complete if 95% of a Task's area is covered by Machine Data.
- Optional - select Automatically Create Tasks. If selected Traction Enterprise will create an appropriate new Input Application Task or Tillage Task in the event that an As Applied or Tillage Field Operation does not match an existing Task in Traction Enterprise. However, this will only be the case when an appropriate task is not present within a +/- 3 month window.
- Optional - select "If a Field Operation is missing Operator, mark it as 'Needs Review'" if you want to be alerted when your Machine Data file does not link Operator automatically.
- Optional - select "If a Field Operation is missing Equipment, mark it as 'Needs Review'" if you want to be alerted when your Machine Data file does not link Equipment automatically.
- Click Save.
Note: If changes are made to your Import Settings, they do not update previous records. It will only change future records/tasks.
