Overview:
Traction Enterprise is great for helping you track your leases with Landowners. If your farm has multiple farming Entities that have agreements, Traction Enterprise can handle that too.
Requirements:
- Setup your farm Entities and Landowners on the Setup>Entities page.
Process:
To add land agreement terms to a single boundary:
- Use the filters at the top to locate the boundary.
- Click Add Agreement.
- Enter the land agreement terms:
- Choose the Landowner, Lessee, Cash Rent or Crop Share
- Check the Agreement Area and Ownership Percentage
- If applicable, enter an Input Share
- Set your Expiration Date
When you add terms to boundaries:
- Land Agreements are specific to a Production Cycle.
- The Agreement Area defaults to the boundary acres, but you can override the acres.
- When a boundary has more than one Landowner, the Ownership % and Ownership Area of the Land Agreement determine how to distribute crop and input shares.
- If the field is owned by your farming operations, indicate the farm organization as the Landowner and select Owned in the Lessee category.
Note: Edits to Landowner, Lessee, Crop Share, Input Share, or Ownership affect only future harvest or input applications. To modify past activity, contact Custom Support or your Customer Success Manager.
To bulk add land agreements to boundaries:
- After you add your farm Entities and Landowners, navigate to Setup>Land Agreements.
- Use the filters at the top to filter for a specific Boundary or by Landowner.
For example, imagine that you want to assign land agreements to all of the fields you farm that are owned by Dan Thompson. If you added a field group containing that landowner's boundaries, filter for that field group. If Dan Thompson has the same Land Agreement terms for all of the fields he owns, select Landowner at the top to select all fields.
- Select the Landowners where you want to add land agreements.
- Click Add/Edit Terms at the bottom of the page.
- In the Add/Edit Terms dialog box, specify the Landowner, Lessee (Organization Entity), and Cash Rent terms (if applicable).
- For Crop Share, specify the percentage of the harvested crop attributed to the Landowner.
- Input Share, specify the percentage of input usage attributed to the Landowner.
- Under Input Share, click Advanced Options if the terms of your land agreement are specific to a certain type of input; for example, Landowner pays for 25% of fertilizer use, but is not responsible for seed or chemical use.
- In the Advanced Input Share Terms dialog box, specify exceptions by input category (herbicide, fungicide).
- When a boundary has more than one Landowner, the Ownership % determines how to distribute crop and input shares.
- Enter an Expiration date for the Land Agreement to help you track upcoming expiration dates as you visit the Land Agreements page.
- Click Apply to add the terms of this Land Agreement to the selected fields.
